		<description>As you may be aware (but your readers may not), City Council Democrats prieosmd key leaders in Charlotte&#039;s East Side and black community that they would move the streetcar to the top of the priority list in exchange for their support for defeating a voter-initiated ballot measure to repeal the half-cent sales tax that helped build the South Blvd light rail line.  This promise was made in 2007, and fulfilled this week.  End of story.  No other considerations were considered relevant by the Dem majority on the Council.</description>
